ILAC-IAF joint annual meeting has been held since October 21, 2017, at Canada, Vancouver. ENAO is delegated by its Director-General and AFRAC Chair Mr. Araya Fesseha and Deputy Director-General Mr. Getnet Tsigemelak.
On this EVENT both IAF and ILAC are celebrating or approaching significant milestones – ILAC is celebrating its 40th anniversary this October and IAF is approaching its 25th anniversary, which will occur in January 2018. ILAC first started as a conference, which was held on 24-28 October 1977 in Copenhagen, Denmark with the aim of developing international cooperation for facilitating trade by promotion of the acceptance of accredited test and calibration results.
ILAC is the international organization for accreditation bodies operating in accordance with ISO/IEC 17011 and involved in the accreditation of conformity assessment bodies including calibration laboratories (using ISO/IEC 17025), testing laboratories (using ISO/IEC 17025), medical testing laboratories (using ISO 15189) and inspection bodies (using ISO/IEC 17020). and
The IAF is the world association of Conformity Assessment Accreditation Bodies and other bodies interested in conformity assessment in the fields of management systems, products, services, personnel and other similar programs of conformity assessment. Its primary function is to develop a single worldwide program of conformity assessment which reduces the risk for business and its customers by assuring them that accredited certificates may be relied upon. Accreditation assures users of the competence and impartiality of the body accredited.
